The aim of this course is to give you a basic overview of the law in relation to financial remedies upon divorce: an understanding of the types of claim that a separating couple are entitled to bring; the obligations that exist to give detailed financial disclosure; and, an introduction to the Family Court’s powers and how it goes about dividing up capital and pensions and any claims for maintenance.
By the end of this course you will gain an appreciation of the broad financial issues that arise upon divorce, so you can work out what further help you need in your specific circumstances. We will also identify other courses you may find helpful.
