The i Newspaper Asks The Simple Question: ‘Would You Use The “One Couple One Lawyer”

The i newspaper has run a poll asking the simple question: ‘Would you use the “one couple one lawyer” approach to get divorced?’

The results are in…

Yes 43%
No 28%
Maybe 29%

So 72% of those who replied either wanted to share a lawyer, or would want to find out more about it if the time came. And yet there is a dire lack of information for divorcing couples about how they can work together on divorce and share expertise.

Tavistock Relationships is launching a Working Together Divorce & Separation Directory, and we are delighted to be involved in the launch event. But much more needs to be done. The demand for a joint approach to divorce is clear, now it’s time for systemic change so that working together becomes the default.
